She manages to get Nick's attention who fends off Bo and then frees Carly, while Dalton finds Wade as part of the House of Wax, restrained in his wax coating. Vincent then ambushes Dalton and slashes off a section of Wade's face, causing him to die of shock, before chasing, cornering and finally decapitating Dalton. The Get Waxed owner escorted us to a cozy treatment room, where she prepped our skin with Dr. Bronner's All-Natural Soap. She removed our most stubborn hairs with an organic honey wax, then produced a soothing chamomile-and-lavender lotion, which she let us apply ourselves when we mentioned we were modest. House of Wax is admirable as one of the few movies - and even fewer horror movies - to feature an interracial couple without mention of race. Although it's filled with stupid characters who make basic horror movie mistakes (they take the detour, accept a ride from a stranger, investigate the creepy town, etc.), it also has a way of getting under the skin. House of Wax is a 3-D horror delight that combines the atmospheric eerieness of the wax museum with the always chilling presence of Vincent Price.

Later, Burke receives all of the insurance money, as Jarrod is believed to be dead, but Burke is then killed and left dangling in an elevator shaft. At a boardinghouse, a giddy, promiscuous blonde, Cathy Gray, who was dating Burke, is found dead in her room by her friend and fellow boarder, Sue Allen. Sue is chased out the window and through the streets by a man in black, until she takes refuge with friends of her family, Mrs. Andrews and her son Scott. The next day, when the Andrewses and Sue visit the police, Lt. Tom Brennan mentions that Cathy's body, as well as several others, have disappeared from the morgue. Meanwhile, Sidney Wallace, a wealthy financier, is contacted by a wheelchair bound Jarrod, who has survived the fire, but claims that he suffered permanent loss of his hands and legs.

Arriving just in time to apprehend Igor and save Scott, the police break into Jarrod's workshop. Jarrod attempts to fight them off, but he ultimately dies after being knocked into the workshop's vat of boiling wax and Sue is saved. The salon is warm and inviting—almost a little fairytale-esque. So inviting, in fact, it was the spot our editor chose to lose her waxing virginity, and they made her feel right at home.
As he can no longer sculpt, Jarrod has hired assistants, the deaf-mute Igor and talented sculptor Leon Averill, to help him recreate his wax figures, and using a new procedure he has devised, build another museum. Jarrod says that, as he can no longer create beauty, he plans to make a horror museum and expects that the museum will be profitable. After being shown Jarrod's basement laboratory, where plaster-of-paris figures are dipped in a vat of boiling wax, Wallace agrees to finance the museum. When Sue sees the figure of Joan of Arc, she is shocked by its likeness to Cathy, which, except for its dark hair, is exact, even to its pierced ears. After Wallace introduces Scott and Sue to Jarrod, the sculptor remarks that Sue resembles his favorite creation, Marie Antoinette, who was destroyed in the fire, and offers Scott, who is also a sculptor, work in the museum. Sue's concern about the wax Joan of Arc's likeness to Cathy prompts Scott to take her to visit Brennan, who promises to investigate further.

Brennan and his men check out the museum and find that the wax figure of John Wilkes Booth bears striking resemblance to a murdered city official, whose body recently disappeared. Brennan and Sgt. Jim Shane interview Wallace about Jarrod and his assistants, and later Shane remembers that an alcoholic prisoner in Sing Sing, who painted a recreation of "The Last Supper" in his cell, was recently paroled. They pick up Leon for questioning and after finding on him an inscribed watch belonging to the missing man, continue the interrogation. At dusk, Sue goes to the museum to meet Scott for a date and enters the darkened establishment. She again approaches the figure of Joan of Arc and still troubled by it, climbs up for a closer look.
After 40 years in the business, 17 at MichaelJohn alone, her genuine cheerfulness was impressive, as was the fact that she refrained from issuing the standard scolding when she saw we'd gone to war with an ingrown. She finished with a brush of seaweed oil to calm any postwax inflammation and sent us off to go swimsuit shopping, way more sexy than savage. We'd rate it as one of the most comfortable waxes ever, and her prices are painless. "I help women feel more free." With that we sat up, glanced down, and felt (and looked) liberated.
Co-owner Klinholm led us to a treatment room that looked more like a cubicle flooded with harsh fluorescent light. The electric glare left nothing to the imagination ("So, you're a shaver") and made us feel overly exposed. She poured a fresh dose of azulene wax into a new, disposable cup ("We're clean fanatics here," she said) and spread on a thin layer.
While House of Wax certainly delivers what it promises the film only half works for me because I'm more invested in the aesthetics than the actors. "House of Wax" is not a good movie but it is an efficient one, and will deliver most of what anyone attending "House of Wax" could reasonably expect, assuming it would be unreasonable to expect very much.

Constructed out of cliches, thinly written characters, and fundamental misunderstandings of human nature, House Arrest is a dull (and borderline irresponsible) waste of a talented cast. And Matt then leave to collect their parents and bring them there to lock them up as well. Matt's father, Vic, never keeps a wife for more than two years and is on his latest one, Louise. T.J.'s father, Donald, does not treat his wife, Gwenna, well. The film was released on August 14, 1996 and went on to gross just over $7 million at the box office.
