Michael James Saucier, Sr., of Covington, La., passed away on October 27, 2022, at home, surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 78. He is also survived and remembered lovingly by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Michael is preceded in death by his late wife of 45 years, Jennie Rose Mangipano Saucier, and his parents, the late Henry Desire Saucier and Ona Mae Lemoine Saucier. Michael was born in New Orleans to Henry and Ona Mae Saucier on November 18, 1943 and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish. He worked as a project manager for the federal government for 35 years. He received the Navy Meritorious Civilian Service Award to commemorate his distinguished leadership skills and professionalism.
The following day, All Souls’ Day, we invite the public to a mass held on our cemetery grounds. This day holds great importance in Vietnamese culture and local Vietnamese clergy perform the service for nearly 1,000 guests. Dad’s love for animals showed in how each and every pet was spoiled and were special members of our family. Jeanne Petone passed away peacefully on October 9, 2022 at the age of 73 surrounded by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick Braquet Jr. and Joyce Erato Braquet. Jeanne loved all things of beauty and elegance and had the most caring, giving heart.

Michael enjoyed partaking in many activities, especially building cherished treasures in his workshop for his family. He was very active and adventurous, always willing to go kayaking, hiking, or fishing. He was often outside tending to the yard or vegetable garden.
